Since autumn is upon us it was to be expected that a plethora of social events to take place. Romania is no shy country when it comes to new and social media events, therefor is quite a task to attend all of them.
However there are a few that no social media enthusiast or professional should miss. Here are three of them of them which I’ll also attend:
11.09 Twestival Local Cluj-Napoca – At its second edition, this month’s event will try to raise some awareness (and quite possibly a decent round of donations) for a local emergency care unit for newborns. Kudos to Gabriel Aldea for putting this edition together.
16.09 Wordcamp – The first conference dedicated to WordPress that will cover all aspects of the platform & blogging. I’ll also have a 40 minute spot on the first day to talk about hosting for blogs, challenges & best practices. Many thanks to Mihai-Irinel Popescu for reaching out to me.
18.09 Webstock – Quite possibly the largest social media event to take place in Romania. Also at its second edition, Webstock prides itself on being the single most important event to gather the entire new & social media peeps in the country. I’m sure it will be an even bigger success than Webstock’08. Thank you Cristian Manafu for the invitation, I’m sure we all will make the best of it. My only regret is that one of the projects of (INC)3 was not ready for this events’ contest.

I particularly look forward to this kind of events, they are an exceptional way to get acquainted with the new players and put a face on a name. Apart from being a great networking opportunity such events also have the pleasant side-effect of getting oneself a decent amount of clients & create the basis of interesting projects with like-minded professionals.
However, I’m not particularly keen of attending networking-only events. I had my fair share of invitations for such events, which I respectfully declined. I believe that if you organize an event that has a niched topic the likelihood of attendees to connect with people that are actually interested in working with one another is much higher.
So if you’re in or around these events, feel free to hit me up. I will gladly sit around & chat with you for a while.
