Expect the unexpected

It’s quite obvious that unpleasant situations occur almost every day in each and everyone’s lives. I won’t call them unfortunate as I really don’t believe in fortune or luck.

I’ve been talking about morality and the inexistence of luck  and hopefully that motivated you to become a more down-to-earth person. Yet some situations occur for what you’re totally unprepared for. Call them shocks, call them unexpected situations. Call them whatever you like but be aware of their existence.

More or less often these are quite nasty and hateful things that turn your life upside down in the most undesirable way.

Be it the loss of a job or contract, a complete disappointment in a friend or relative or death of someone you love, it’s something that you cannot (and most of the time will not want to) deal with. Yet you will be faced with it whether you like it or not.  But how you prepare for it is key of walking away from it with a clear mind and sometimes your sanity intact.

But there is no real advice I can give you here except that you need to be prepared for the unexpected. I’m not saying that you should put on the skeptic’s hat or distrust anyone around you but rather keep an open mind & heart towards the unexpected. People, but mostly loved ones will always have a tendency to disappoint you (because this hurts the most) and the only way to deal with it is to take a step back, relax and think things through.

Because in the end it will all work out fine, as long as you keep your faith.

So stay strong, no matter what. It’s for your own good, I promise.

I think we’re more likely to be disappointed by the ones we care about because we have the tendency to set higher expectations when it comes to them.
