I’ll try to make it

How often do you hear people around you saying that? In this anti-downshifting environment it’s quite normal to express the desire to be there but also point out the possibility of your absence. It’s what we do. And it’s a great excuse as well.
Just the other day a dear collaborator of mine called me early in the morning to ask me to come down to a business networking event. I’ve heard of the event a few days in advance but I wasn’t quite sure I can make it. well, to be honest I didn’t even think it will benefit me that much, considering it was slightly out of my area of immediate interest.
Boy was I wrong. I agreed to come [...]

Startup Showcase: WIP

I’ve met Alex and Claudiu of WIP on a Friday evening in late October 2008.  It was the first formal meeting that the local online community had organized and I was eager to meet new people, listen to them talking about new projects.
We live-streamed the event through Qik and I remember being quite excited. As I’m always eager to learn about interesting local projects I’ve asked for their business cards and I was to follow up with them quite soon.
I’ve followed them closely for the past year and when I first decided to do a few startup showcases they were the first to pop into mind. So I sat down with Alex and had a little chat with him regarding [...]

Monday’s announcement

Seth Godin once quoted the guys from 37Signals stating that the key to shipping on time and on budget is that when you run out of time or money, you ship.
Fortunately none of this happened in regards to the projects I was about to announce today. It’s just the timing that’s not quite right. Instead of rushing into it I’ve decided to let each project play out its own timing. Not to worry, it will happen very soon for each of them.
But I won’t let you leave with empty hands and I’ll give you a small piece of news: We’ve got new talent over at (INC)3 and we’re also taking our business offline & abroad.
Thank you for your patience & [...]

Next Monday’s Announcements

We’ve all been busy in the past 2 months, as you might have been too.
A lot of good things came along the way and a few amazing opportunities showed themselves, thus we immediately acted upon them.
In our first exercise of transparency I’ll be announcing (INC)3’s current investment portfolio, as well as the latest acquisition but most importantly, the people that made everything possible. We’ll also share some insights on what we’re looking in a company and what we’re planning to achieve. I’m almost certain that no one is as excited as we are, yet I hope you’ll share our enthusiasm and commitment.
Thank you, save the date, the main announcement will go live first thing Monday morning, on the 8th of February.

Startup Showcase

In the past few months I’ve come across a few very interesting and promising startups. Many of these though lack the opportunity and resources to get the word further out than their friends and close acquaintances but most importantly, go way beyond their national borders.
Therefore I’m going to start a series of showcases on these type of startups and I’ll try to point out what sets them apart, what problems do they solve and most importantly, why should we care.
I plan on starting next week with a local startup I’ve been following for a while. They do some amazing work and hopefully my showcase will do them justice. I plan on making Robert Scoble proud.
I’m quite familiar with the local startup [...]

Hello again World

I’m finally back, with a new domain and a slightly changed design. I will keep my old blog for posts related to the Romanian online market, local lifestyle and mostly personal issues that are tightly related to Dracula’s Land. I’m permanently giving up the Romanian blog, you’ll still be able to see my old posts under the Romania category.
Other than that, you can find me right here. Make sure you subscribe to the new feed and add me on twitter in order to receive my updates.
Thank you!
PS: Within a couple of days I’ll release the results of the LinkedBook Experiment.

Back to ‘09

It’s been a hectic two weeks since the year started, thus my absence from all that’s social and new media.  A quick summary of January’s  events in my life:

Trilulilu is now the #1 site in Romania, overall. Kudos to the entire team! And we now have an internal advertising salesforce.
My better half started blogging. She already published a few social studies under a CC license. A great read for those in the field, so go grab them here.
I’ve been quite ill lately. Quick word of advice: If you catch a cold, don’t play tennis. You’re going to get immobilized in bed for at least 3 days straight.

The LinkedBook experiment is still underway, the results are quite interesting, I shall have [...]

Social Entrepreneurship

Investitia in Client
